The people behind the studio.
Humanity Science Studio is built by scientists, researchers and practitioners who believe that rigorous science can — and must — translate into useful tools for human health.

Valérie Ducret
Founder & CEO
Valérie holds a PhD in Life Sciences from the University of Lausanne (2017), specializing in molecular and animal biology. After a post-doctorate at the Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle in Paris, she joined the biotechnology industry to work more directly on applied health questions.
At Pharnext, as Omics Scientist, she led the company's genomic analysis projects. She ran genome-wide association studies (GWAS) combining proprietary patient data with public cohorts such as the UK Biobank, to identify genes associated with rare neuropathies like CMT. She managed a bioinformatics team, structured data processing pipelines (Nextflow) and oversaw their deployment in a cloud environment (AWS).
At Owkin, she joined the research team as Senior Research Scientist. She was lead data scientist on the MOSAIC project, an international consortium investigating immune evasion mechanisms in glioblastoma using multimodal analyses (spatial transcriptomics, single-cell RNA-seq, bulk omics). She contributed to partner projects with BMS and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, developing machine learning models for survival prediction and clinical trial optimization. She co-organized the Owkin × Servier AI Hackathon on glioblastoma (Palais Brongniart, February 2025), held during France's AI Action Summit — 150 participants, covered by France 24. She presented her work at ISMB/ECCB 2023 and co-authored two papers under review.
These experiences led her to focus on prevention: how to better detect, earlier, what undermines health — and build tools that genuinely connect science with people's concrete needs. She founded Humanity Science Studio with that goal.
